Wrong size sent

I ordered this with other thermal base layer clothing - which I confirmed to the option to go up a size due to the very tight fit. This layer was also sent up a size (Medium vs Large) and while it’s a lovely garnet was not the size I ordered.

I sent an email to say that while I did not want the hassle of having to return the item I was disappointed that the wrong size was sent. And I have had no response.

A discount was offered for future orders but nothing was provided.

Is the base layer considered part of the thermal line of garments that it was automatically upsized?
